Sony Unveils Details Of Soneium Layer2 Network At WebX Conference In Tokyo
According to Odaily, Japan's largest cryptocurrency-themed event, the WebX Conference, commenced on August 28 in Tokyo. During the event, Jun Watanabe, Chairman of Sony Block Solutions Labs, and Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Labs and co-founder of Astar Network, introduced specific details about Sony's Layer2 network, Soneium.
The presentation highlighted the expanded utility of the Astar token (ASTR). In addition to its current functionality on the Layer1 Astar Network, ASTR will also be utilized across various projects deployed on Soneium. Furthermore, the Astar zkEVM will migrate to the Soneium Layer2 network, which is expected to significantly grow the Astar community.
