Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) was recently released from a U.S. prison after serving 118 days of a four-month sentence. His imprisonment followed his guilty plea to charges of violating U.S. anti-money laundering (AML) laws, which led to Binance paying $4.3 billion in fines, and CZ personally paying $50 million. As part of the settlement, he stepped down as CEO, with Richard Teng taking over leadership of the company. Despite his legal issues, CZ's net worth remains substantial, estimated to be around $30 billion.
