About OMG Network

OMG Network, formerly known as OmiseGO, is a decentralized project that seeks to enhancing digital payment systems by facilitating communication and interoperable functionality among various networks and digital assets.

The Thailand-based Omise Blockchain Lab was formed in 2015 to explore how blockchain technology could enhance the business model of Omise, the parent payment processor company established in 2013. The official project white paper was completed in 2017, with highly technical concepts describing the multi-faceted operations within the OMG Network (then OmiseGo).

After a great deal of development, e-wallets were created and introduced to facilitate interoperability. The OMG testnet was then launched in 2020.

While the OMG Network operates on its own independent blockchain in order to transfer and present assets to the decentralized environment for use or transfer in real time, it also runs on the Ethereum network. This means assets on the OMG network can be backed by native ERC20 cryptocurrency, Ether (ETH), in order to be traded.

OMG is the native cryptocurrency of the OMG Network. OMG price is updated and available in real time on Binance.
