🔒 EigenLayer has beefed up security for its EigenDA data-availability service on Ethereum, to fend off nasty Sybil and DDoS attacks. This new feature uses either an IP or Ethereum address ECDSA authentication, a fancy cryptographic method for verifying identities. This upgrade ensures the service remains available to all clients, even the busiest Ethereum rollups. Plus, EigenLayer is cooking up a feature for permissionless payments for blob throughput on EigenDA, set to launch by year's end. In other news, the Eigen Foundation has kicked off the second phase of the EIGEN stake drop, contributing to the total distribution of 113 million EIGEN tokens. Lock up your tokens, folks, they're going nowhere until the end of Q3 2024!
