Crypto and blockchain research firm Arkham Intelligence has reported that millions of dollars of cryptocurrencies have been forgotten in various bridge contracts. The company warned investors to look at their transaction history and check that transactions were completed as specified. It did not go unnoticed that one account forgot 800 thousand dollars for 2 years.

Crypto analytics firm Arkham Intelligence has found that some accounts holding large amounts of cryptocurrencies have left millions of dollars in assets in various bridge contracts. The accounts include large accounts and some firms in the DeFi and NFT space.

There is also an account Buterin sent crypto to
It is seen that one of the accounts where high value cryptocurrencies were forgotten received a transfer from Vitalik Buterin, one of the founders of Ethereum. It was stated that this account, to which Buterin sent 50 ETH, left its funds on the Optimism bridge for 7 months.

Arkham also sent a message to Buterin and said, "Vitalik, if this account is yours, you have a million dollars of Ether on the Optimism bridge."

"You may be holding millions of dollars in the wrong place"
In the statement made by Arkham, it was stated that millions of dollars of cryptocurrencies were forgotten on bridges and the following statements were used:

"There are dozens of accounts with 6 and 7-digit cryptocurrencies forgotten. If you are on this list, you may be keeping millions of dollars in the wrong place."

800 thousand dollars in forgotten accounts
It is also noteworthy that an account with the ENS name thomasg.eth has 800 thousand dollars left on the Arbitrum bridge. Another surprising situation was that the crypto money remained on the bridge for 2 years. It is also noteworthy that a company account called Bofur Capital left 27 WBTCs on the Arbitrum bridge for more than 2 years. The price of these WBTCs is 1.8 million dollars.
An NFT trader using the name Mike Macdonald on the X platform also appears to have forgotten $117,000 in assets from a CryptoPunks sale in a bridge contract.

As it is known, some bridge applications allow cryptocurrencies to be automatically transferred to accounts, while others require the user to manually request the funds.
