According to Foresight News, Bitrace CEO Isabel Shi was invited to participate in a three-day Virtual Asset Investigation Bootcamp organized by the Hong Kong Police Force. The event gathered over 60 supervisory and law enforcement personnel from various agencies, including the Hong Kong Police Force, Macau Judiciary Police, Hong Kong Customs, Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), and the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). Shi delivered a specialized lecture on the trends and investigative methods related to cryptocurrency crimes and money laundering.

During the session, Isabel Shi used real-world examples to explain new methods of cryptocurrency money laundering and how traditional money laundering techniques can be enhanced with cryptocurrencies to increase anonymity. She provided insights into investigating fraud, black and grey market transactions, online gambling, and drug trafficking. Shi emphasized that cryptocurrency-related criminal groups in Asia are becoming more concentrated and industrialized, making it increasingly challenging to combat these crimes. She recommended that law enforcement agencies adopt data tracking tools and closely collaborate with Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs) to tackle these emerging crimes effectively.
