According to Foresight News, a high-ranking executive from a subsidiary of South Korean internet giant Kakao is suing GroundX, Kakao's blockchain division, for approximately 10 billion won (around $7.6 million). The lawsuit stems from a hacking incident involving the Klip crypto wallet integrated into the Kakao Talk messaging app.

The hacking event occurred in March 2022, when the executive's Kakao Talk account was compromised. Following the breach, the stolen cryptocurrency was transferred to overseas exchanges. During the legal proceedings, a spokesperson for Kakao mentioned that the company is currently undergoing an integration and optimization process for GroundX, which has resulted in a shortage of personnel to address the situation adequately.
