According to BlockBeats, the decentralized Twitter project Bluesky experienced a significant increase in users following the ban of X in Brazil. Within just three days, the platform attracted one million new users, causing its weekend traffic to surge by 15 times and presenting technical challenges for the platform. Bluesky, co-founded by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, offers similar functionalities to X, allowing users to post text updates, share photos, and repost content. The platform fully opened its registration in February this year. The Brazilian Supreme Court upheld the ban on X due to Elon Musk's failure to comply with judicial orders to remove illegal content and appoint a legal representative in Brazil. This decision effectively halted X's operations in the world's sixth-largest market. The court also imposed a daily fine of 50,000 Brazilian Reais on users attempting to bypass the ban, with potential criminal charges. As X faces legal and financial difficulties, Bluesky is rapidly adapting to the influx of new users by starting to publish content in Portuguese and providing localized tutorials. Brazilian President Luiz InĂĄcio Lula da Silva has directed his followers to alternative platforms, including Bluesky.
