According to Odaily, NEO founder, Da Hongfei, has regained control of his hacked account and has issued a sincere apology to the community. Da Hongfei explained that he received an email requesting a password reset on July 6 at 11:30 PM Singapore time. He realized his account had been locked 50 minutes after seeing the email. The hacker had changed the password of his account, enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), and began posting messages containing scam links.

Da Hongfei pointed out that the hacker was able to infiltrate his account because he had previously linked several third-party websites and applications, including office and calendar management services, to his email. The hacker somehow exploited these permissions to gain read access to his email content. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining strong security measures for online accounts, especially those linked to sensitive personal and professional information.
