According to Foresight News, The Sandbox has announced the launch of The Sandbox DAO, which will be rolled out in three stages. This will allow SAND holders and virtual LAND owners to vote on the project and propose improvements through Sandbox Improvement Proposals (SIPs). The first phase is set to begin on May 28, where the community will be able to vote on SIPs. However, some operations will still be managed by The Sandbox staff.
The second phase of the DAO implementation is considered its 'exploration' phase, where it is expected that Sandbox DAO will be able to separate from its parent company. By the third phase, the DAO will be fully operational and achieve community-driven governance. This move is seen as a significant step towards decentralization, giving more power to the community and less to the central authority.
