Former #Binance CEO Changpeng “#CZBİNANCE ” Zhao is responding to Bitcoin’s recent rally, claiming the $100,000 price point is “boring.”

To the relief of many crypto advocates, Bitcoin has returned above the $100,000 price point. The asset had fallen below the closely watched level on Dec. 19 due to the Fed’s hawkishness. Amid its recent rally, former Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao is causing a stir.

“100K Is Boring”

Former Binance CEO Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has claimed the $100,000 price point is “boring” as Bitcoin has surged back above that level in the past 24 hours, marking the asset’s first time above that level since Dec. 19.

100K is boring, right?” Zhao wrote in an X post on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The statement caused a stir as it hinted that Zhao was expecting higher prices for Bitcoin. Zhao himself has touched on this in recent statements.

The influential crypto figure called 2025 the year of “send.” Crypto enthusiasts often use the phrase “send” to express their excitement when asset prices rise.

The sentiment comes as several analysts have claimed that Bitcoin’s price will rise even higher in 2025. Some, like Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan, predict the asset will reach the $200,000 price point, driven by institutional adoption and nation-state interest.

While Binance’s Zhao did not offer a Bitcoin price prediction for 2025, he has hinted in the past that the asset will one day trade hands for $850,000 per coin

Speaking at Bitcoin MENA 2024, he suggested that the asset will eventually surpass gold in market capitalization. For context, gold has a market capitalization of $17.8 trillion at the time of writing. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a valuation of $2 trillion.
