President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Bo Hines, a former college football player and Republican congressional candidate, as the leader of his newly established "Crypto Council." This initiative reflects Trump’s commitment to fostering growth and innovation within the digital assets industry as part of his broader economic agenda. Hines will collaborate with David Sacks, Trump’s crypto and AI policy leader, to advance policies that support the development of blockchain technology and provide critical resources to the sector. The announcement, made via Trump’s Truth Social platform, underscores the administration’s focus on establishing the United States as a global leader in cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence. Hines, who previously ran for Congress in 2022 with support from several pro-crypto political groups, including entities linked to former FTX CEO Ryan Salame, brings a unique blend of political and industry-backed experience to the role. Additionally, Trump has named Sriram Krishnan, a former partner at Andreessen Horowitz, as senior advisor on artificial intelligence, further solidifying his vision for U.S. leadership in emerging technologies.
