MicroStrategy, a company based in Tysons Corner, Virginia, announced on Monday that they bought $5.4 billion worth of Bitcoin. This brings their total Bitcoin holdings to 386,700, which is worth around $37.6 billion. This is the largest Bitcoin purchase they have made since they started buying Bitcoin in August 2020.
The company bought these Bitcoins using money from selling their shares and some types of notes. They bought an average of 55,500 Bitcoins for about $97,862 each. As of November 24, 2024, they now own 386,700 Bitcoins, which they bought for about $21.9 billion at an average of $56,761 per Bitcoin.
