The conceptual artwork Comedian by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan was sold at a New York auction for $6.2 million, starting from $800,000.
The buyer, Justin Sun, founder of the TRON cryptocurrency platform, acquired not the banana itself but a certificate of authenticity. This certificate allows him to designate any banana taped to a wall as Comedian.
