The US Justice Department has announced the seizure of Popeyetools, an online platform used for cybercrime. The website was used to sell stolen financial data and to help people who wanted to use ransomware or commit fraud. The site was closed down and its administrators, Abdul Ghaffar, Abdul Sami, and Javed Mirza, have been charged with selling stolen financial data and helping with the crimes.

Since 2016, the site made $1.7 million from people buying stolen financial data and from paying with cryptocurrency.
