The recently released NFT-based venture of Ubisoft, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles has seen a setback after a player exploited a loophole in the game’s mechanics making the gameplay impossible for other players.

In October Ubisoft announced its debut in a free Web 3-based game known as Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles. The announcement of the game was already very confusing to the players since Ubisoft has gone through failed attempts to utilize NFTs in its previous games.

However, the title was still recently dropped, and adding to the deteriorating image of Ubisoft, the new blockchain-based RPG is already going through a major problem.

A post on X by the user Jauwnio reported the difficulty of playing in Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles since Friday, November 1st.

He said this seems due to the malicious actions of one single player who automatically wins the game before the match even starts.

The post also said that this single player is “the only person anyone ever matches against.” The username of this player is either Schilleri11 or Paulstar111 in Ubisoft’s NFT-based game.

This malicious user figured out an exploit in the RPG game which has allowed him to take over the game. Winning every match automatically has shot up the rankings of this user to the top with more than 56,000 matches played yet.

The development team is working on the permanent fix as players expressed their disappointment

The other players of this Web 3 RPG have taken their frustrations to the game’s Discord server. They shared their concern about this game with yet another disappointment from Ubisoft’s soft for letting a single player spoil the game’s experience for the rest of the audience. Especially when the game was just in the infant stages of its launch.

The moderator of the game shared on November 2 that the development team had banned the player Paulstar111 as a temporary fix for this issue. While they are working further and deep to prevent this from happening again with a permanent solution coming soon.

However, some players still complained about facing the problem of being paired with the same rogue user in the game.
