North Korean hackers infiltrated the cryptocurrency industry, and more than a dozen companies accidentally hired North Korean IT personnel
Odaily reports that North Korea has successfully infiltrated more than a dozen blockchain companies by using forged identities and hiring their IT personnel. These employees used fake identities to successfully pass interviews and background checks, and even demonstrated real work experience. The affected companies include Injective, Fantom, Sushi, Yearn Finance, and others. Hiring North Korean employees not only violates the laws of multiple countries, but also poses cybersecurity risks, with several companies experiencing hacker attacks after hiring North Korean IT personnel. According to a UN report, North Korean IT workers generate up to $600 million in revenue annually.
