**News Flash: Securitize Integrates Wormhole for Cross-Chain Tokenization**
Securitize, a leading tokenization platform, has integrated the Wormhole cross-chain communication protocol to enhance the transferability of tokenized assets across different blockchain networks. Announced on Sept. 20, this move aims to enable faster and cheaper transactions, fostering a robust cross-chain ecosystem for real-world assets (RWAs).
RWAs, including tokenized financial assets and commodities, are gaining traction in the crypto market, currently valued at around $12 billion. However, transferability constraints have hindered wider adoption.
Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, emphasized the need for tokenized securities to thrive on public blockchains to unlock blockchain technology's full potential. This integration is expected to boost institutional adoption, with Securitize already onboarding $1 billion into RWAs.
Wormhole, connecting nearly 30 networks like Ethereum, Avalanche, and Solana, specializes in cross-chain data transfers. This integration sets the stage for increased institutional interest in tokenized assets, according to Robinson Burkey, Wormhole Foundation’s CCO.
Ethereum remains dominant in the RWA space, but issuers are exploring other chains. Franklin Templeton, for instance, plans to launch tokenized funds on Solana.
