Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, today unlocked and drew 1.268 million STRK tokens, currently valued at $470,000, from Starknet’s Locked Token Grant contract. This transaction now pushes his total Starknet holdings to 2.113 million STRK, worth $854.73k at $0.39

Vitalik withdraws more than one million STRK tokens

Today at 13.15 UTC+8, Vitalik, one of the first individual investors of StarkNet, took out roughly 1.3 million STRK tokens from Starknet’s Locked Token Grant contract to his wallet. Vitalik’s transaction adds about $470,000 to his current holdings, making STRK token his second largest token investment after Ethereum.

This is not the first time this year that Vitalik has received significant STRK tokens. In May, he withdrew 845, 205 STRK from the Locked Token Grant, which at the time was valued at roughly $1.07 million. Back then, this single transaction led to a spike in STRK prices, and even now, the same is happening for the token.

Currently, the STRK token is trading at $0.39, with a 24-hour trading volume of $76,114,375, representing close to a 3% rise in prices in just 24 hours.

At the current trading price, Vitalik’s STRK holdings are valued at around $854,000, with over 2.1 million tokens in his wallet.

Vitalik has increasingly transacted and interacted with many other tokens besides STRK

Before today’s STRK token withdrawal, Vitalik interacted with multiple tokens, including PIKA, ETH, DIMO, and POKT, moving them between different wallets linked to his addresses. On August 30, he transferred about 800 ETH, worth $2.01 million, to a multi-sig wallet before exchanging about 190 ETH for 477,000 USDC.

Moreover, on August 9,  Vitalik had made another transfer, moving over 3000 ETH valued at around $8.04 million to the same multi-sig wallet. Currently, he holds about 240,171 ETH, bringing his total Ethereum holdings to $595.45 million.

With his augmented transfer activity, some have questioned whether the Ethereum co-founder plans to donate more to charity, while others hint at internal reallocations.

Most of his previous Ethereum transactions were linked to donations, with Vitalik saying he hasn’t sold ETH for personal gain since 2018. His most recent donation was $53,0000 worth of  ‘Animal Coins’ after liquidating some of his “NEIRO on Ethereum” tokens.
