Elon Musk is setting new expectations for employees at X, formerly known as Twitter. According to a report by The Verge, Musk has asked staff to submit a one-page summary detailing their contributions to the company to qualify for stock options. This move follows Musk's previous directive in 2022, where he urged employees to work "long hours at a high intensity" to build "Twitter 2.0."
Those unwilling to meet the rigorous demands were encouraged to leave, leading to around half the staff exiting. The remaining employees have since faced an "extremely hardcore" working environment, with some even sleeping in the office to meet tight deadlines. X is also planning to relocate its headquarters to Texas, though it will maintain a Bay Area presence through a shared space with xAI in Palo Alto.
