Vitalik Buterin Moves 400 Ether to Railgun Amid Ether's Price Increase

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin recently transferred 400 $ETH , valued at approximately $1.05 million, to the privacy-focused service Railgun. This transaction has drawn significant attention, particularly as Ether has risen by 4% over the past week, with the current price at $2,619. Despite previous declines, Ether's trading volume has jumped by 45% to $10.2 billion.

Details on the Railgun Transfer

- The transfer to a Railgun address starting with 0x1810 follows a series of deposits by Buterin, totaling 662 ETH over the past 10 months. Buterin’s continued use of Railgun underscores his dedication to privacy within the cryptocurrency realm. Additionally, the community has observed a recent transfer of $500,000 worth of ETH to an unknown wallet.

Market Movements and ETF Flows

- Ethereum's performance in ETF markets has been mixed. Although Ethereum spot ETFs saw a net outflow of $14 million, BlackRock’s ETHA and Fidelity’s FETH reported inflows of $76 million and $25 million, respectively. On the other hand, Grayscale’s ETHE experienced a significant outflow of $118 million.

New Domain Registration

- Buterin also registered a new Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain, ‘dacc.eth,’ for 0.187 ETH (roughly $500). This domain is connected to his concept of ‘defensive accelerationism,’ a topic he plans to discuss during an X Spaces event on August 22.
