During the week, the market experienced a light uptrend, particularly on Aug 14 when the price of BTC pushed past $61k. However, the rally was short-lived following a decline back to the $58,000 mark.
Notably, the investors’ confidence continues to dwindle as the crypto fear and greed index data suggests. According to Alternative, the general market emotion reflects ‘fear’ as its metric value declines by 2 points from yesterday’s 29 to 27 at the time of writing. The BTC price has shown volatility over the last day, falling as low as $56,000 before regaining $58k. According to CoinMarketCap data, BTC saw marginal gains of 0.06% at the time of writing to trade at $58,451. Its trading volume over the last day has also increased by 6.03%.
Earlier today, Coinfomania reported that the US government sent 10,000 BTC to Coinbase Prime. This bearish pattern could be one of the contributing factors to the selling pressure witnessed by the flagship cryptocurrency. Amid this, Soso Value data records a BTC ETF total daily net inflow of $11.11 million as of August 15.

Ethereum however, has taken a different path. The price of ETH has dropped slightly by 0.27% to $2,615 within the time. The second-largest cryptocurrency has since struggled to reclaim the $3k level since its fall during the August 5 market crash. Meanwhile, Ethereum has recorded a low and high of $2,532.69 and $2,674.18 and a negative total daily net ETF flows of -$39.21 million.

The price of SOL increased by 1.20% at the time of writing to trade at $143.22. Additionally, Solana saw a low and high of $138.17 and $147.04 respectively. XRP has taken a different route. CMC data shows that the price of XRP declined by 0.06% to change hands at $0.5674. Its one-day lows and highs were recorded at $0.5521 and $0.5731.
Also, Binance Coin (BNB) added 0.11% to its value to rest at $521.82, maintaining a bottom and top range of $511.48 and $533.85 respectively. The price of Toncoin (TON) declined by 1.6% to $6.49 as of writing, having one-day lows and highs of $6.44 and $6.85.
Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) plummeted in the last 24 hours. While DOGE lost 0.98%, SHIB declined by 1.35%. Consequently, DOGE and SHIB changed hands at $0.1012 and $0.00001336 respectively.
Meanwhile, the layer-1 blockchain platform token Sui (SUI) saw a notable 4.10% decline in value as of writing to trade at $0.8557. The 32nd-largest cryptocurrency traded between $0.8267 and $0.9318 in the last 24 hours.
