A whopping 1.6 million BNB tokens, worth nearly $1 billion, have been burned! This marks the 28th quarterly burn of BNB, Binance's ecosystem token. The tokens were sent to a non-returnable "black hole" address, reducing the total supply. This burn event brings the total value of burned tokens to approximately $971 million. The BNB Foundation aims to continue burning tokens until the total supply reaches 100 million. With real-time burning also in place through gas, an additional 234,000 tokens have been burned since 2021. This news comes after the previous burn of 1.9 million BNB on April 24. BNB is currently trading at around $595.
