Who else is building with #TEE technology in #web3? Share your stories for why you chose TEE for infrastructure! At Secret, we chose #TEE and launched years ago, becoming the first network supporting private by default, turing-complete smart contracts for practical reasons. The hardware based design allows for fast and cheap confidential computing. We recognized that web3 needed private by default smart contracts in order to be adoptable by the majority of business use cases, as well as entertainment and ownership use cases. Not to mention, real-world financial use cases would need privacy and selective disclosure for security reasons. At that time, the only way to build it on mainnet was through TEE based infrastructure. Back then, our founders realized #TEE was not a perfect technology. But it was practical and useful in real time. We could build today. So we forged ahead, AND we continued research on alternative technologies for the future. We are integrating some of those soon in upcoming upgrades that dramatically change the scale and security of Secret. But TEE is also evolving, there are new initiatives to create alternative versions of TEE hardware, and we are very optimistic about the future of TEEs as a corner stine of Decentralized Confidential Computing, and the decentralized web.
