According to Odaily, a recent report by blockchain intelligence firm TRM Labs reveals that the amount of cryptocurrency stolen by hackers in the first half of 2024 has more than doubled compared to the same period in 2023. The data indicates that by June 24, 2024, the total amount of stolen cryptocurrency reached $1.38 billion, while the amount stolen during the same period in 2023 was $657 million.

The five largest hacking incidents so far this year account for 70% of the total stolen amount. Noteworthy incidents include the theft of over 4,500 bitcoins from the Japanese exchange DMM Bitcoin in May, valued at over $300 million, possibly due to stolen private keys or address poisoning.
