Web3 payment rails are currently in a similar position to early debit cards, usable only in limited locations. While some online stores accept Bitcoin payments, most physical retailers do not. This is partly due to negative sentiments around crypto scams and a lack of robust infrastructure for crypto payments. Web3 builders are urged to focus on improving consumer experiences at a day-to-day level, rather than creating speculative instruments and institutional products. This includes implementing infrastructure that makes crypto usable in daily life. The goal is to allow the world's 560+ million cryptocurrency owners to use their coins for practical purposes, rather than just for speculation.
