About Quant
Quant (QNT) is a blockchain-based protocol designed to facilitate interoperability among different blockchain networks. It is primarily aimed at institutions such as banks and asset management firms, providing users with features that include blockchain-secured asset and data exchange, and cross-border payments.
The Quant protocol facilitates interoperability among multiple blockchain networks, including Bitcoin, Ripple, and Ethereum. It functions as a decentralized payment validation system through its blockchain-agnostic Overledger API gateway.
Quant separates blockchain layers into three categories: transaction, messaging, and filtering and ordering, each performing a specific task. The Quant transaction layer verifies transactions across multiple chains, while the messaging layer supports data transfer. Quant’s filtering and ordering layer enables the verification of off-chain data, and interactions with decentralized applications (DApps).
Quant’s ecosystem consists of the Quant Overledger Network, which facilitates data exchange among disparate blockchains; the Quant Overledger DLT Gateway, which enables cross-chain smart contract and token exchange; and Quant MApps, which are DApps that use Quant to operate on multiple blockchains.
