🚀Hey #CryptoTwitter, love is in the air but so are scams! Apparently, Canadian crypto enthusiasts are getting more than they bargained for on dating apps.💔

🔍The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC) reports a surge in crypto scams, particularly romance scams (or as they say, pig butchering) and investment scams. Scammers are sliding into DMs, promising unrealistic returns on crypto investments.đŸ€‘

đŸš«Victims are lured into signing up on fraudulent platforms, initially allowed to withdraw small amounts to appear legit, but eventually, their funds are locked out. Ouch! That's not the kind of love we're looking for!😅

💡In response, Canada is prepping to implement the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) for taxation by 2026, introducing new reporting requirements for crypto asset service providers.
