1,000 bitcoins buried since the era of Satoshi Nakamoto resurface The crypto community, ever vigilant for a hypothetical return of Satoshi Nakamoto, closely monitors all bitcoin transactions dating back to his known period of activity (i.e., before May 2011). And, indeed, a total of 1,000 ancient BTC have recently come back to life in early December 2023. These bitcoins originate from block rewards obtained, hold on tight, between August and November 2010. CryptoQuant, a company specialized in on-chain data analysis, identified these movements on December 4, 2023, over 13 years after these BTC were frozen in time.
