According to Odaily, the Hong Kong securities sector is looking to issue derivatives related to cryptocurrency spot Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs). This comes as cryptocurrency spot ETFs have officially been listed, allowing brokers to apply to regulatory authorities for the issuance of derivatives, such as options with higher leverage. This move is expected to significantly enhance the attractiveness of Hong Kong's virtual asset market.

Not only does the launch of cryptocurrency spot ETFs attract investors who prefer to invest in physical cryptocurrencies, but it also opens up more development opportunities for brokers. Veteran securities industry figure Xie Mingguang pointed out that the introduction of cryptocurrency spot ETFs has boosted confidence in Hong Kong's development prospects.
