The BitcoinOS team claimed that any Bitcoiner or Cardano lover will not be restricted to using the $BOS token, instead, it will be invisible.
5 days ago the controversy started when BitcoinOS announced their new token plan. Before that BitcoinOS never talked about any token concept and people were expecting that BitcoinOS will allow people to use Cardano’s native token $Ada or simply Bitcoin but the sudden announcement regarding the $BOS token shocked the whole crypto industry.

On 28 Nov 2024, Charles Hoskinson, Cardano founder, responded to a tweet regarding this controversy. He explained that Bitcoiners will never use Bitcoin on any other altcoin network, if they will be restricted to use another altcoin, because for them Bitcoin is only the main gold standard.
It's also about commercial viability. Bitcoiners won't use an altcoin for Bitcoin defi. It's Bitcoin. It's the gold standard. Give the kids what they want

In response to Hoskinson’s tweet, the BitcoinOS team stated people will not be restricted to use $BOS token, instead it will be invisible to the users & there will be choice for them to use Cardano ($Ada), Bitcoin ($BTC), or $BOS token to pay fee on Cardano-Bitcoin bridge.
Hi Charles, 👋Bitcoiners *DO NOT* need $BOS token to use Bitcoin DeFi via BitcoinOS. BOS token payments will be abstracted away from the UX of most end users so they can pay in BTC or other tokens – a bit like Babel fees will do for Cardano. We completely agree with you.… https://t.co/K9k5rA2Khm pic.twitter.com/nuJlfMbYCV

In short, the BitcoinOS team claimed that people will be able to use Bitcoin to pay transaction fees but technically that BTC fees will be automatically used to purchase $BOS token & that will pay the fee for service charge.
However the BitcoinOS team clarified the whole doubt with this response but this information is not enough for the crypto community, that is why they announced a new token, while they never mentioned it in their whitepaper.
