During the peak of the COVID epidemic, global economic activity was disrupted, leading to supply chain instability, job losses and stagflation. Some climate change campaigners argued that this event had a positive impact on the planet, with emissions dropping by 5.4%. They proposed “climate shutdowns” as a way to slow climate change by disrupting global economic activity.

Globalists have also presented climate shutdowns as a form of collective punishment if the population does not reduce carbon dioxide emissions. One expert, Mariana Mazzucato, suggested that governments would restrict the use of private cars, ban the consumption of red meat, and introduce extreme energy-saving measures in the event of a climate shutdown.

However, these claims were quickly dismissed as “fake news” by the media and public. Lockdowns were found to be completely useless in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and were more about accustoming people to the gradual infringement of their freedom. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has also called for global climate action, suggesting that economic activity and emissions must be restricted even further to achieve a temperature rise of less than 1.5°C.

Instead of open shutdowns, the IMF and other globalist organizations may prefer a carbon tax, which could have a devastating effect on Western countries, causing an energy crisis, food shortages, job losses, and ultimately total economic collapse. According to the IMF and other global organizations, all countries must achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2030 to avoid the “climate gap” theory, which suggests a 1.5°C increase in Earth’s temperature could trigger a domino effect, leading to environmental disasters and further emissions.

However, there is no evidence to support the climate gap theory, as there is no clear link between carbon dioxide emissions and global warming. The impact of human activity on climate remains controversial. Historical temperature data show that Earth’s warming periods are regular, and our current era is more of a colder period.

The real purpose of carbon taxes and climate regulations may be to redistribute wealth from developed countries to developing nations while centralizing control over national wealth and individual freedoms.
