Thai YouTuber Arrested in Indonesia After $59 Million Scam
Natthamon Khongchak, a 32-year-old Thai YouTuber known as "Nutty," was arrested in Indonesia after allegedly defrauding over 6,000 people of $59 million. Posing as a forex trader, she showcased a luxurious lifestyle on social media to attract investors.
In 2022, Nutty fled Thailand when her investment scheme—promising returns of up to 35%—collapsed. Though she initially claimed she would repay her followers, she and her secretary, Nichapat, fled first to Malaysia and then to a remote Indonesian island, where they were ultimately apprehended.
After two years on the run, Nutty and Nichapat have been returned to Thailand to face charges, leaving thousands of victims hoping for justice.
