Bitmain, a Bitcoin mining equipment manufacturer, has denied any involvement in a supply chain investigation involving Huawei. Reuters reported that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) suspended shipments to China-based chip designer Sophgo after discovering one of its chips on Huawei’s Ascend 910B AI processor.
Huawei is restricted from purchasing such technology due to US national security concerns. Although Sophgo is reportedly affiliated with Bitmain, the company has stated that it complies with all laws and has never engaged in any business relationship with Huawei. Bitmain’s association with Sophgo comes from shared co-founder Micree Zhan.
However, Bitmain has expressed its commitment to distancing itself from any potential legal or regulatory repercussions by denying any involvement in the supply chain investigation and emphasizing its compliance with all laws. The company also aims to reassure stakeholders and maintain its position in the Bitcoin mining sector.
