September has been an incredibly exciting month for Zilliqa as we roll out the first live proto-testnet for Zilliqa 2.0 and lead the industry in building interoperability with other networks.
From Zilliqa Groupâs partnership with EMURGO that builds connections with the Cardano ecosystem to the launch of Jasper and our visit to Token2049, we are making strides to ensure that Zilliqa is at the forefront of Web3 innovation, unlocking the power of blockchain for all.
We also saw a governance proposal to introduce a halving mechanism for mining rewards, accelerating the journey to Proof-of-Stake. I encourage all $gZIL holders to vote on the proposal and help define the future of the Zilliqa network.

Strengthening Interoperability with Cardano
We are thrilled to announce a strategic collaboration between Zilliqa Group and Emurgo, the commercial arm of the Cardano blockchain, to enhance interoperability between Zilliqa and Cardano.Â
This partnership aims to build seamless bridges between our two ecosystems, allowing greater connectivity for users and developers across both chains.Â

Jasper Proto-Testnet Launch
In September, we hit a critical milestone with the launch of the Jasper proto-testnet for Zilliqa 2.0, bringing us closer to full Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus.Â
The Jasper testnet is designed to test the next-generation features of Zilliqa, including improved scalability, faster block times, and lower latency. We invite developers and validators to participate in the proto-testnet and help us refine the system before the mainnet launch.

Proposing a Halving Mechanism for Mining Rewards
September also saw a proposal introduced to the Zilliqa governance forum which advocated for mining rewards to be halved every month as part of the transition to Proof of Stake with Zilliqa 2.0.
This proposal encourages stakeholders to prioritise and accelerate the migration to PoS while aligning the interests of validators towards adopting this consensus mechanism and allowing resources to be reallocated to strengthen network security and participation.

PlunderSwap Goes Live on Jasper
The PlunderSwap decentralised exchange is officially live on the Jasper proto-testnet, bringing early DeFi capabilities to Zilliqa 2.0.Â
An AMA was also held with our CEO Matt Dyer and the PlunderSwap team to discuss this exciting development, detailing how the Jasper launch will reshape DeFi on our network.

This month saw two major AMAs that showcased Zilliqaâs growing ecosystem.Â
Zilliqa Head of Business Development for Sports and Gaming Tom Fleetham participated in an AMA hosted by Mobee, sharing insights into Zilliqaâs strategy and upcoming developments.Â
Meanwhile, LetsExchange featured an AMA that provided updates on $ZIL listings and our strategy for Zilliqa 2.0.

Upcoming events
The Zilliqa team and Group representatives will be attending the Cardano 2024 Summit in Dubai from 23-24 October, where we will be exploring the opportunities unlocked by the recent initiative to improve interoperability with the Cardano network, enabled by Zilliqa Group's partnership with EMURGO.
October will also see Zilliqa Head of Investor Relations Bradley Laws attending Bitcoin Amsterdam and Head of Product Anton Agafonov representing Zilliqa at Cosmoverse, building relationships across crypto ecosystems in line with our mission to improve interoperability.
The team will also be attending the Future Blockchain Summit in October, where we will be connecting with developers and businesses across the blockchain industry.
