The former Montenegrin Justice Minister, Andrej Milovic, said there is a possible connection between the extradition of Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon and a recent airport deal between Montenegro and South Korea.
Do Kwon is the co-founder of Terraform Labs, a crypto firm responsible for the Terra crypto project, which collapsed in 2022 under high volatility. A few months ago, Montenegro authorities handed Kwon over to his native country, South Korea. The U.S. authorities had pressured Montenegro to extradite Kwon to the U.S.
Recently, a report surfaced in the crypto community regarding a sensational development involving the infamous crypto entrepreneur Do Kwon.
According to reports, former Justice Minister Milovic suggested that Prime Minister Milojko Spajić altered his stance on the 30-year concession agreement for Montenegrin airports, using Kwon’s extradition as leverage to finalise the deal.
It is worth noting that Spajić initially supported a French bid for the airport concession but later changed his position after a court upheld Kwon’s extradition. Milovic claims that Spajić began endorsing the South Korean offer shortly after the ruling, which he considers a significant signal of suspicious activity.
He also claimed that Spajić has a personal relationship with Kwon, citing reports of a $75,000 investment in Terra/Luna tokens. Other officials, including President Jakov Milatović and former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, have accused Spajić of hiding his connections to Kwon, despite evidence of their meetings.
Terraform Labs Liquidation
Recently, a court ruling ordered Terraform Labs to liquidate all of its business assets to compensate creditors. However, the leadership of Terraform will be able to pay between $184.5 million and $442.2 million to crypto investors and other stakeholders as part of its bankruptcy liquidation. Experts believe the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will receive a very small amount in fines.
