Tech Updates and Announcements 💻
August was a month of innovation and progress for FIO Protocol, marked by the release of FIO Chain v2.11. This update (FIP-48) brought crucial enhancements, including continued funding for free FIO Handles and bug fixes that improved platform functionality. In addition, the v1.24 FIO App API release enables developers to register FIO Handles and Domains with non-FIO tokens, further simplifying the integration process and offering a 50% revenue share to participating applications.
Partnerships and Collaborations 🤝
This month, FIO Protocol solidified its place in the gaming and Web3 communities through several strategic partnerships. We joined forces with YOM, integrating FIO’s blockchain technology into YOM’s decentralized cloud gaming infrastructure. This partnership will make blockchain transactions more accessible to gamers worldwide. Additionally, FIO Handles are now live on DecentraChat, a decentralized communication platform, making it easier for users to manage secure, private, and censorship-resistant communication globally.
FIO Domains and Handles 🌐
FIO Domains continued to prove their versatility and importance in the Web3 ecosystem this August. Users can create multiple FIO Handles with their chosen domains, mapping them to various wallet addresses for seamless transactions across different platforms. This feature simplifies interactions in the blockchain space, making transactions more user-friendly and secure.
Events and Community Engagement 🎮
August was an eventful month for FIO Protocol on the global stage. We were represented at Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany, where we showcased our technology’s impact on gaming. Our Head of Growth, Blockchain Wayne, also spoke at Istanbul Blockchain Week and the GG360 event, discussing the future of Web3 and digital transactions.
We were thrilled to celebrate Bitcoin Infinity Day, a moment to acknowledge the limitless potential of Bitcoin and the strides we are making in the blockchain industry. Additionally, we were proud sponsors of the BAM events in Cameroon, where we connected with the African blockchain community and showcased FIO’s contributions to the industry.

About FIO:
FIO, the Foundation for Interwallet Operability, is a decentralized consortium that supports the ongoing development, integration, and promotion of the FIO Protocol. The protocol, built on the FIO Chain, a dPoS blockchain, serves as an open-source, decentralized usability layer solution that works across all blockchains. FIO Protocol uses human-readable Handles to replace the complexity, risk, and inconvenience associated with blockchain-based transactions. Fueling the ecosystem utilization is the FIO Token ($FIO), which powers transactions and incentivizes network participants.
