Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that U. S. Vice President Kamala Harris would speak at a Bitcoin conference. Although the news was met with low-key cheers, many members of the crypto community were genuinely hopeful that the Democrats would eventually embrace #cryptocurrencies .
However, those hopes were finally dashed in light of recent events.
In a recent X-Post post, David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, called Harris guilty and made a number of new accusations against her. Specifically, Harris privately called bitcoin "money for criminals.
Bailey said Harris and other members of President #Joe Biden's administration have repeatedly vilified the crypto industry over the past four years. So now their attempts to get their point across about the friendliness of cryptocurrencies are nothing more than lies. Part of the message reads:
I'm sorry, but you can't destroy our industry for four years, run it, hire Gensler and Warren as your champions, and pretend to be excited about bitcoin.
Mr. Bailey's comments follow recent news that Mr. Harris has canceled his appearance at an upcoming bitcoin conference. Ms. Bailey claims that her campaign team has been trying to get Harris to speak at the Bitcoin Conference, the world's largest bitcoin conference organized by Bitcoin Inc. Her campaign has also reportedly reached out to billionaire Mark Cuban to get his opinion on cryptocurrencies.
However, this new event was not a shock to Bailey.
