Metaplanet's Bitcoin Holdings Hit 245.992: What's Next?

Metaplanet, a Japanese early-stage investment firm, has purchased an additional 20.381 BTC ($1.27 million) on July 22, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 245.992 BTC, thus fulfilling its goal of purchasing 1 billion yen worth of BTC.

At the time, Bitcoin was priced at $67,282.71.

Previously, on June 24, Metaplanet announced plans to buy more BTC using funds from a new series of bonds worth 1 billion yen, with a 0.5% annual interest rate, maturing on June 25, 2025.

Following this, Metaplanet made multiple BTC purchases on various dates, including a notable purchase of 21.88 BTC on July 16.

Metaplanet's stock price surged by 19.31% in response to these actions, and the company saw a 408.82% increase in stock value over the past three months.

This aggressive BTC acquisition strategy positions Metaplanet as a competitor to MicroStrategy, which holds 226,331 BTC.
