According to Odaily, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino has recently expressed concern over a suspected cyber attack on OpenAI. He emphasized the importance of locally executable artificial intelligence (AI) models in protecting user privacy and ensuring resilience and independence. Ardoino stated that the capabilities of the latest generation of smartphones and laptops are sufficiently advanced to fine-tune general LLM based on user data and retain enhanced features locally on the device.

In an interview in May, Ardoino revealed that AI is the next major focus for the company. He pointed out that Tether is investing in the AI field with the aim of creating decentralized, localized AI models that can run on personal devices to enhance privacy and control. Ardoino stressed that Tether's goal is to reduce intermediaries in various fields such as finance, communication, and education through blockchain technology, thereby achieving decentralization.

In addition to this, Tether has also invested in brain-computer interface technology to maintain human uniqueness and enhance cognitive abilities. This move is seen as part of the company's broader strategy to leverage advanced technology for enhancing user privacy and control.
