Blockchain Capital’s X Account Hacked for Token Claim Scam

The account posted many times, promising to give away tokens and telling users to use a fake website to connect their crypto wallets.
The Twitter account of Blockchain Capital, a company that invests in cryptocurrency projects, was possibly hacked by scammers. They tried to trick people by saying they would get tokens.
On August 9th, the account posted many times, saying they would give away “BCAP” tokens. They told people to go to a fake website that looked like the real one. Later, Blockchain Capital got control of the account back and removed the posts.
The fake website looked almost the same as the real one, but it had an extra “n” in the web address. This fake site told people to link their crypto wallets. This is a trick that scammers often use to make people do something that steals their money.
The scammers cleverly stopped people from leaving comments on the posts, so others couldn’t warn about the possible scam. Many users of X still shared the posts to alert everyone about the scam.
Not long ago, someone took control of Blockchain Capital’s account. This happened after the FBI said that bad people were taking over social media accounts of famous crypto people. They do this to send people to fake websites that can harm them.
Scam Posts Flood XRP Advocate’s Hacked Twitter Account
Recently, Jeremy Hogan, a lawyer who supports XRP, had his Twitter account taken over by scammers. They posted harmful links, claiming to give away XRP tokens. This went on for about four days.
Towards the end of July, Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the CEO of Binance, a big crypto company, warned his 8.5 million XRP followers about more scams happening. This followed a similar incident where the founder of Uniswap, Hayden Adams, had his XRP Twitter account hacked.
Zhao advised against using text message-based security and suggested using hardware devices instead.
