香港財庫局局長：香港穩定幣監管框架出來前，暫不允許零售買賣
香港財庫局局長許正宇在投資及理財教育委員會的節目表示，Jpex和FTX 等無牌虛擬資產交易平台的嚴重欺詐案件反映出不受規管的平台具有風險及監管的重要。
許形容，在不受規管平台投資的風險高，因這些平台欠透明度、運作未必穩健，投資者如與平台有爭拗，可能投訴無門；若平台倒閉、停止運作、欺詐、違約甚至失竊，投資者很可能全數失去存放於該些平台的資產。
以往有不少虛擬資產交易平台以USDT等穩定幣作為交易媒介，許正宇表示，市場上相關幣種會以美元或黃金等以支持其價值，目標是穩定價格，但過去亦曾有穩定幣發生價格波動甚至崩盤。許指，穩定幣發行機構的儲備管理會影響價格穩定性及投資者贖回法定貨幣的權利，考慮到這些因素，在香港正式監管穩定幣之前，現時暫不會納入允許零售買賣
