Crypto exchange Binance continues to expand its global reach by establishing a new blockchain hub in the crypto-friendly country of Georgia.

Binance announced on March 26 the opening of its brand new blockchain center in Georgia with the goal of driving further cryptocurrency adoption in the country. Designated as a “Web3 outpost,” Binance intends to attract talent to the blockchain sector in Georgia, promote industry education, and create more job opportunities.

According to the announcement, Binance's Georgia operations are currently recruiting 25 people to collaborate with the local public and private sector to organize educational events and hackathons. The company hopes to create “dozens more jobs” when the headquarters launches in late 2023.

Binance's launch of its new regional headquarters in Georgia follows several important milestones in the company's growth in the country.

Earlier this year, Binance partnered with local crypto payment portal CityPay, partnered with the Georgian Technology and Innovation Agency (GITA), and launched the Binance Charity initiative to support women-focused Web3 education.

According to Vladimir Smerkis, regional director of Binance, Georgia is one of the most innovative countries in the region.

“For Binance, Georgia is an important point on the map. To date, we have held three community meetings here, with a total of more than 2,000 attendees,” Smerkis said. He added that Binance sees “tremendous potential and interest” in crypto from both the local and corporate communities.
