Dear community, We want to address recent concerns about AUCTION’s price volatility. To be clear, the team is not involved in any price manipulation. Here’s our perspective on the situation and our plan moving forward 🧵⬇️ Over the past couple weeks, some unknown party accumulating over 20% of AUCTION’s total supply has drawn significant attention with its onchain transfer activities and how it impacted AUCTON’s price. This resulted in the following market impact: AUCTION trading volume surged across major exchanges—Binance spot volume exceeded $200M, with AUCTION futures becoming the third-largest pair after BTC and ETH. Upbit spot volume topped $500M, ranking above BTC for days. A significant price premium on Upbit led to large-scale AUCTION withdrawals from main exchanges for arbitrage opportunities. We also observed some unhealthy market conditions & liquidity imbalance: Binance, as the primary price discovery market, saw its hot wallet holdings drop below 10% of total supply. Borrowing rates exceeded 80% annually, and funding rates remained at -2% for multiple periods. Major exchanges adjusted their perpetual contract position limits and risk control measures. To help stabilize market liquidity, we’ve been proactively providing liquidity support across multiple exchanges.
