🔥Ethereum (ETH), the second-ranked crypto by market cap, has had a breakout month as Ether price has climbed from $2,165 on Jan. 23 to hit a high of $3,488 on  29/02/2024 representing a gain of 60%. 

💥According to Kerel Verwaerde, the Chief Marketing Officer for Cryptology.com, “The Dencun upgrade, which is divided into two upgrades – one in the execution and one in the consensus layers – is a continuation of the efforts to make Ethereum more scalable, especially using layer 2s (L2), which paves the way for the continuation of Ethereum being the undisputed king of utility blockchains.” 
“When looking at the growth we've seen in the Layer 2 space over the past year, it's clear the underlying infrastructure is primed for explosive growth if we can further reduce costs,” said Jesper Nielsen, Chief Operating Officer at Northstake. “Developer activity on L2 networks increased by 133% and the number of contracts grew by 303% – that's tremendous momentum. But right now, settlement costs still pose a barrier.” 
“The Dencun (EIP-4844) upgrade could reduce those costs by an order of magnitude or more,” Nielsen said. “Imagine if a company like Slack, which spends an estimated $85 million per year on cloud fees, could see those costs reduced 10x to just $8.5 million annually. Those kinds of savings could be transformative and help spur the uptake of decentralized solutions.” 
💥He noted that “Previous Ethereum upgrades tended to solve narrow problems — things like reducing gas price volatility,” but said EIP-4844 “could take Ethereum to the next level by fundamentally improving its scaling and efficiency through vastly lower settlement fees. LPL Financial is carefully evaluating the new spot-Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) before making them available to their clients.

Rob Pettman, who oversees wealth-management solutions at LPL, leads the due-diligence process on these funds.
Over the next three months, they will assess how these ETFs perform in the markets and decide which ones to offer. The goal is to strike a balance between protecting clients from risky investments and allowing them to benefit from this emerging asset class

Ngày càng nhiều nhà đầu tư Trung Quốc tìm cách sở hữu Bitcoin và các tiền số khác, vì tin rằng chúng an toàn hơn chứng khoán và bất động sản. Những người này chỉ hoạt động trong vùng xám. Tiền số bị cấm tại Trung Quốc đại lục, và nước này cũng kiểm soát nghiêm ngặt việc chuyển tiền ra nước ngoài, nhưng người dân vẫn có thể giao dịch trên các sàn như OKX hay Binance, hoặc thông qua các kênh phi tập trung.

Còn chứng khoán Trung Quốc cũng có khởi đầu năm kém lạc quan. Chỉ số CSI 300 – gồm 300 cổ phiếu lớn niêm yết trên sàn Thượng Hải và Thâm Quyến – hiện bằng nửa so với đầu năm 2021.
Ngược lại, Bitcoin đã tăng giá 50% từ giữa tháng 10/2023. Hiện, mỗi đồng giao dịch quanh 40.100 USD. Tiền số này cũng nổi tiếng có biến động giá lớn.
Khi các nhà đầu tư cá nhân tìm đến tiền số, các tổ chức tín dụng cũng không muốn bị tụt lại. Nhận thấy cơ hội tăng trưởng tại đại lục giảm sút, nhiều doanh nghiệp mở hướng kinh doanh liên quan đến tiền số tại Hong Kong.
“Nếu công ty hoạt động ở đại lục, trong bối cảnh thị trường chứng khoán đi xuống, nhu cầu IPO yếu đi và các mảng khác co lại, bạn cần tìm động lực tăng trưởng khác để báo cáo với các cổ đông”, Giám đốc sàn giao dịch trên cho biết.
Chi nhánh tại Hong Kong của Bank of China, China Asset Management (ChinaAMC) và Harvest Fund Management đều đang nghiên cứu khả năng kinh doanh tại Hong Kong với lĩnh vực tài sản số.
Nền tảng theo dõi dữ liệu tiền số Chainalysis cho biết các hoạt động liên quan đến tiền số tại Trung Quốc đang tăng mạnh. Xếp hạng của nước này trên toàn cầu, về khối lượng giao dịch ngang hàng (P2P), đã tăng lên thứ 13 vào năm ngoái. Năm 2022, thứ hạng của Trung Quốc là 144.
Dù bị cấm, thị trường tiền số tại Trung Quốc vẫn ghi nhận giao dịch trị giá 86,4 tỷ USD giai đoạn tháng 7/2022 – 6/2023, cao hơn nhiều so với Hong Kong, theo Chainalysis. Số giao dịch lớn của nhà đầu tư cá nhân (10.000 USD đến 1 triệu USD) chiếm hơn 6%, gần gấp đôi toàn cầu.

Phần lớn hoạt động tiền số tại Trung Quốc “được thực hiện qua các kênh phi tập trung, không chính thức, hoặc trao đổi ngang hàng (P2P)”, Chainalysis cho biết trong báo cáo.
Tại Hong Kong, nhiều cửa hàng được mở ra để làm nơi giao dịch tiền số ở các tuyến phố mua sắm đông đúc. Các cửa hàng này ít chịu kiểm soát của nhà chức trách. Ví dụ tại Crypto HK, một cửa hàng tiền số ở quận Kim Chung, khách hàng có thể mua tiền số với mức tối thiểu 500 đôla Hong Kong (64 USD).
Charlie Wong – một nhà phân tích cổ phiếu 35 tuổi – cũng mua Bitcoin qua Hashkey Exchange. Đây là sàn giao dịch được Hong Kong cấp phép. “Rất khó tìm cơ hội trong các lĩnh vực truyền thống. Chứng khoán Trung Quốc và các tài sản khác gần đây đang đi xuống. Nền kinh tế đang trải qua quá trình chuyển dịch quan trọng”, anh giải thích.
Wong tin rằng chính phủ Trung Quốc hiểu được Bitcoin sẽ tạo ra sự đột phá lớn đến mức nào. Họ cũng nhìn ra tiềm năng của tiền số này, nên mới chấp thuận việc giao dịch Bitcoin ở Hong Kong. Việc này sẽ giúp Trung Quốc vẫn có vị trí trong lĩnh vực tiền số đang bùng nổ ở nhiều trung tâm tài chính, như Singapore hay New York.

According to a report by Cantor Fitzgerald, 11 of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin miners may struggle to mine Bitcoin profitably if the price of BTC fails to increase significantly after the halving event in April 2024 .
The report warns that the United Kingdom-based miner Argo Blockchain and Florida-based Hut 8 mining are the most potentially unprofitable after halving, with an “all in” cost-per-coin rate of $62,276 and $60,360, respectively .
