📣 Bitcoin ABC 0.30.6 is here! 🚀
This release adds the Chronik indexer to the MacOS node version, a bug fix for nodes with avalanche disabled (non default) as well as several under-the-hood improvements. 🛠️
Download it here: bitcoinabc.org/releases/#0.30.6
Starting with version 0.30.6, the minimum supported Glibc version is 2.31. This means that Debian 10, Ubuntu 18.04, RHEL 8 and derivatives are not supported.
This only applies to the release binaries. Users willing to use Bitcoin ABC on these distributions can build from source.

ℹ️ If you missed the Nov 15 eCash network upgrade, you must upgrade to v0.30.5 or later to get back to the correct chain. ✅

eCash’s new Real-Time Target (RTT) algorithm smooths out block times for faster, more reliable transactions. Here’s what it means for users: 👇

In Proof-of-Work (PoW) networks like eCash, mining difficulty adjusts based on miner activity. But miners often switch between eCash, $BTC, and $BCH to chase profits, leading to:
➡️ Turbo blocks: A flood of fast blocks
➡️ Long delays: Slow blocks when miners leave
This "switch mining" creates unpredictable deposit times for users. While this behavior impacts all PoW networks, it hits minority chains like eCash harder due to their smaller share of the total hash rate.
The Solution: Real-Time Targeting
The Heartbeat upgrade dynamically adjusts mining difficulty in real-time. By rejecting blocks mined too quickly, it prevents the turbo block problem and keeps block production steady—closer to the 10-minute target.
Why It Matters: A Better User Experience
The Heartbeat upgrade improves:
✅ Faster transaction confirmations ⚡
