#Bitcoin continues to be compared to digital gold for many reasons, main one being that as gold, it actually has intrinsic value. People mistakenly say that the $USD is money, or any other currency, but the $USD lost its value when the USA abandoned its gold standard, which is significant as that is precisely when the dollar essentially became worthless.
At one point every USD was backed by gold. That was where it got its value from, but people were swindled out of their gold and into believing that fiat currencies like the USD are worth anything more than the paper they are printed on. Humanity has simple accepted the USD as an easy form of exchange and the Banks as an easy way of controlling the money supply. That's why #bitcoin and other #cryptocurrency is such a threat to them.
