Andrew Tate announced on social media platform X Wednesday that he plans to invest a large amount of money in bitcoin, moving away from fiat currency. He expressed his frustration with banks and their associated scams, declaring his intention to prove his investment and enjoy boating afterward. Tate, a British-American social media personality and businessman, gained fame as a kickboxer before becoming a well-known figure in the online space. He wrote:

I know I’m not supposed to do this in chaotic times but I’m about to leave fiat completely and ape over 100M into BTC.

“And I’ll even prove I did it,” he added. “I’m done with the banks. I’m done with their money. Done with the scams. Then I’m going boating.” In a follow-up post, he wrote: “I haven’t done this yet because I actually have more crypto than fiat. But I think I’ll just leave fiat completely.”

However, some users on X questioned whether Tate will invest $100 million in bitcoin, as he did not specify which currency he plans to move into BTC.

Tate has been in various cryptocurrency-related news. Romanian authorities have seized significant assets from him, including bitcoin. In a video published by a criminal lawyer on Youtube, Tate promoted bitcoin as a means of tax avoidance. He has proposed launching his own cryptocurrency.

In addition, Tate has fully embraced the meme stock movement. He stated that he enjoyed contributing to the downfall of hedge funds, highlighting that despite his net worth of approximately $11 million, he has invested $6 million in Gamestop.
