LayerZero Labs is taking a unique approach to combat 'airdrop farming,' a practice where individuals create multiple fake accounts to unfairly acquire tokens. The cross-chain communication protocol creator is offering a 15% token allocation to users who self-report their sybil activity within a 14-day period. LayerZero aims to reward genuine network users rather than those exploiting the system. If users fail to self-report by May 17, 2024, they will be publicly identified, and community members will be allowed to report suspected sybil activity. This move follows the first snapshot related to a potential airdrop distribution to community members.
