Another month has rolled by and in between all the COTI V2 announcements, tech discussions and panel appearances from COTI’s CEO, Shahaf Bar-Geffen, there’s a lot to catch up on. In this article, we’ll recap everything that’s happened with COTI in April, as well as give you a sneak peek at what’s just around the corner.

COTI V2 Devnet Update

First and foremost, we’re happy to report that we’re on schedule for the Q2 launch of the COTI V2 Developers Network; the SDKs are ready, the smart contracts’ examples are ready, and we are working on the final documentation and tutorials, as well as finalizing the COTI V2 faucet and explorer before launching.

We are also happy to introduce the Developer Community Leaders, carefully selected representatives of the COTI community who will work closely with our Dev-Rel and the developers team to help onboard new developers to build on COTI’s network.

We asked them to introduce themselves, and here’s what they had to say:

soeren jensen

“I’ve been invested in COTI since 2020, and intend to be around for a long time to come. I am excited to be actively contributing to the evolution of COTI V2”. COTI Ship “I’m incredibly privileged and fortunate to become an extension of COTIs development efforts. I’ve been in the COTI community via X, Discord, podcasts and more for a number of years, and I am so excited to more actively contribute to the network. Moreover, I can attest that the COTI community are true champions and I look forward to unlocking the amazing talent that sits within it. In our new roles we will endeavor to fulfill the full potential of COTI V2.” Fireflight “I am a software engineer specializing in cloud solutions and distributed applications. Since 2020, I have been an active member of the COTI community, developing tools and educational content for the community and assisting with moderation in our Discord channels. I am thrilled to serve as a Developer Ambassador for COTI V2, and I look forward to helping expand the COTI developer network.” Stefan “Like many others, I got into COTI through Cardano in 2021, and soon got very involved with COTI and its community. I started running a testnet node in January 2023 and since then I have worked on a lot of different mainly educational projects such as the FAQ COTI knowledge base and different informational material on gCOTI and COTI V2. I am also a mod on Discord and in the unofficial COTI Twitter/X community and a recurring co-host on Whoistracer‘s podcast. Geordie R “I’ve been around COTI since almost the beginning when the very first partnership with Cardano caught my eye. Since then I’ve been passionate to help both the community and ecosystem with solutions like the node installer and various telegram bots. I will continue to assist wherever I can to help the adoption of COTI V2!”

On behalf of COTI, we’re delighted to have you on board and appreciate each one of you, along with the diverse set of skills you bring. In the near future we will share our plans to onboard more community members who would like to take part and contribute to the growth of the COTI ecosystem, so stay tuned!

COTI V2 White Paper

We released the full COTI V2 white paper at the start of the month. To mark the occasion, we conducted an in-depth AMA about some of the more technical aspects of COTI V2.

Crypto Convention Season

April is always a busy month when it comes to global conventions celebrating, cryptocurrency, blockchain and the latest innovations within Web3. Over the past few weeks, Shahaf has been invited to participate in a number of events, both as a technical panel guest and presenter.

This includes Paris Blockchain Week, where Shahaf participated in a panel with other leaders in the on-chain privacy space to discuss the frontiers of privacy solutions in blockchain. It was also at PBW24 where Ornella Hernandez from Web3TV caught up with COTI’s CEO for an interview.

Then it was off to Token2049 Dubai where Shahaf spoke at the Infra & DeFi Breakfast by Morningstar Ventures.

We look forward to participating in many future events planned for the following year. We’ll keep you updated and hopefully see some of you IRL!

Defining Privacy: Anonymity vs Confidentiality

Anonymity and confidentiality are two privacy terms which are often confused and used interchangeably, despite having very different applications in Web3. In this article, we explore the fundamental differences between the two concepts and explain how anonymity attracts bad actors while confidentiality inspires trust and drives adoption.

Exchange Listing: gCOTI is Available on MEXC

On April 9th, we shared that gCOTI had been listed by MEXC, a centralized exchange founded in 2018 that employs a high-performance mega-transaction matching technology. You can find the gCOTI / USDT pair here.

ERC20 Deposits Get a gCOTI Boost

After extensive upgrades to the COTI Treasury, we’ve enabled gCOTI to provide an APY Boost to ERC20 deposits as well, up to 1600%. Usually only applicable to Native deposits, this marks the first time gCOTI APY Boost utility across multiple chains.

What’s Next?

As always, we’re busy building as we head into May. There’s a whole lot to look forward to including the COTI V2 Devnet release, more innovative partnerships, and much more exciting news to come.
